Yellow, black, plaid

Black cardigan (worn as a jumper): H&M
Black pleated skirt: Jones & Jones
Yellow plaid scarf: Urban Outfitters (the mens section actually)
Camel coat: Dorothy Perkins
Tan brogues: vintage
Wide tan belt: vintage
Necklaces: vintage and Urban Outfitters

Apologies for the slightly out of focus second photo - would have retaken it but it was freezing! Anyway, lazy outfit for a lazy day. Well not lazy actually, I was busy doing uni work and complaining about the fact I shouldn't have left so much to do in the last few days of the holidays.

Moving on from my organisational inadequacies, how amazing is this scarf? Remind you of anyone? I'll give you a clue. I decided not to go too far with the Rupert the Bear theme and go for a plain black cardigan and skirt, instead of the red jumper and matching yellow trousers. I have a bit of a thing for unconventional style icons. I have absolutely no interest in what Cheryl Cole is wearing but I quite enjoy dressing like cartoon characters. Ah well.

I threw the coat on as an after thought but looking at the photos I'm not sure that mustard and camel is a very good colour combination. I never really wear yellow and I've had a bit of tricky time styling this scarf since I got it. Any tips?

Oh and I've just realised this is the first time the titular brogues have made an appearance in an outfit post. Now you can see that 'beat up' might actually be a bit of an understatement.
